Oh, who am I kidding?

Rock PatioRemember the rock patio that I was going to convert to a flower bed? Well I think I've finally decided that instead of making a flower bed out of it, I'm going to use it to plant a new big pumpkin. This way I can bury the vine and it is far enough away from my vegetables that if I decide to use any form of pesticide at all, it won't affect my food plants. After posting my Shakespeare post, I went back and looked at the whole chronology of big pumpkin posts and you know . . . it was really fun, and I'd like to try it again using what I learned last year. Even if I don't grow a 1000 pounder, I'd really like to top my record of 51.2. Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment. Maybe I'm a perfectionist. But hey, it will be fun right? Right?  . . . . . Right.

This seems to be the way gardener's best intentions go. I always have big designs that are cast aside in favor of impulsive plant cravings.

I'm looking forward to following the progress of your second big pumpkin. I think you'll top your old record. I'm guessing at least 75 pounds!
