Sedum flowers . . . still in a bucket

by Michelle Email

SedumsThree months ago I received the gracious gift of free sedums. My neighbor brought over a bucket of them. This being my summer of complete garden screw up, the sedums are still in their bucket over by the flowerbed where they are hopefully going to be planted. The bucket has become a tangible source for my gardening guilt as it sits just inches from the driveway and I am forced to look at it every time I leave and everytime I get home. You would think that eventually it would manage to milk the guilt enough to get me to plant them but nooooo, I'm not feeling quiet that guilty. Until this week. When the sedums really took it to the next level. The sedums that have been living in a bucket for the last THREE MONTHS, decided to flower, and quite prettily.

I keep expecting to see protestors on my lawn crying out "Save the sedums! Save the sedums!" And if you live by me, please don't. I don't think I could take it. This is my mission for this weekend. To fine one hour when I can get over there, dig a hole and throw them in!

It will be worth it! Just think, you wont have to see it every time on your way in and out!
